WELCOME TO WWW.DEEDIEDUCATI.COM
"In the spirit of the greats of the century: Patsy Cline, Brenda Lee, Janis Joplin, Grace Slick, Melissa Etheridge and others, whether a ballad or a rock anthem, Ms. Ducati can blow away a room with almost incomparable skill. Whether taking on George Jones or Led Zepplin, this warrior of a vocalist will deliver." (Jac Trice, Blues Railroad Magazine)

Formerly the keyboardist for The Flashback Chameleons (2010-2019), Deedie Ducati can be found performing in "W.K.D.R.- the Circle," a group hailing from New Orleans who have made a name for themselves as a band who love what they do, and do it very well. Supporting Deedie's musical efforts are Rico Espiritu, a powerful rock drummer and percussionist, and a genius on Congas and Djembe, Ken Ducote on guitar, doubling on keyboards, giving the band unlimited dimension, and Wayne Smith on bass who gives the bottom a strong funky groove. Deedie says "We are ALL FAMILY in this group and music is what brings us together."

These four talented musicians have built an expanded following over 40+ years and are available for exclusive club dates, house concerts, opening act performances, restaurants, private and corporate events. Please contact us today at 504-782-8764, or if you prefer, email us at

WAYNE SMITH! That's what's new! For a couple of months WKDR had been considering merging with The Werewolves of Metairie, a local blues band. Just weeks before the merge was to take place, their band leader Chris Perkins passed suddenly, leaving the Werewolves without a singer. WKDR's drummer, Rico Espiritu, is also the drummer for the Werewolves and he suggested they complete the merge anyway, bringing WKDR it's much needed "W" with Wayne on bass. We think that Chris would have wanted it that way.
Chris Perkins was also a great songwriter and penned hundreds of tunes! WKDR will add a few of Chris' originals to their set list in his honor.
R.I.P. Chris "Sarge" Perkins. We'll miss you... dahattagirl@aol.com

~WKDR performs at several private functions in August, but one date, August 10th, is reserved to perform at Nola Steakhouse, a swanky place on the second floor of Boomtown Casino in Harvey! WKDR is scheduled to play to the dinner crowd from 5pm-8pm, so expect laid back, lower volume tunes with your steak dinner. Nola Steakhouse and Bar also has daily drink specials and appetizer specials; ask your bartender!

You say you've never heard of WKDR? We get it. It's not a normal band name, but we're not a normal band. We're a different kind of musical experience- one that's about performing songs that other bands DON'T do. We're laid back, thoughtful, relaxing... like listening to the radio! We wanted our name to match. If you haven't heard of us it's because we don't play at every bar or lounge out there like other cover bands do. We like to keep normal hours!

So give us a try. You will NOT be disappointed, and your friends will think you're a genius for finding a band that can keep the volume at an acceptable level yet still sound great!

UPCOMING APPEARANCES:

The Cave will host WKDR on an upcoming Friday evening. If you'd like to attend please message us. Seating is limited. BYOB. Entry is free; tip jar available. Merchandise will be available for purchase. The band is hoping to make this a "once-a-month" gathering.

Rico occasionally sits in with The Fury and The Flashback Chameleons, both local classic rock bands! Check Facebook for performance details.

Deedie sits in with Austin Sicard and The Medics whenever possible. Follow the Medics for shows and times.

You never know when Deedie will show up to sit in with the Danny Alexander Blues Band! So keep up with Danny and let us know if you plan on attending a show. You might be surprised!

Deedie will be traveling soon to Baton Rouge to sit in with The Longneck Society, a local Baton Rouge band with a unique mix of classic rock, country and Cajun music! Deedie not only sings with them but she plays a mean "washboard" on the Cajun songs and sometimes plays the keyboards. LNS is a definite "party band" if you like to dance, so if you're ever in Baton Rouge, check them out!
